Billy Packer Hatred

ADDED: I got a message in the comments that I had missed an anti-Packer post. Never one to miss an opportunity to call Billy boy out, I'm adding this post too.

And hatred is not too harsh a word for some. Others are ambivalent. Here are some of the best blogospheric comments I could find regarding Packer. Enjoy.

Here's a petition to get Packer fired. Plus they request a direct feed from the gym--so the fans can feel the adrenaline of the crowd. Interesting. And check the Billy Packer stupid comments log in the right hand column. This is your basic one stop shop for Packer-hatin'.

MAJORITY VIEW
Universally unpopular. Not exactly universal but close. Arrogance may be one reason.

Straight Bangin is straight gettin' it done. And Bangin's Final Four notes. The BigTenWonk hoped Packer'd get called for jury duty prior to the Final Four. No such luck, sadly. This guy's just jealous his grandfather can turn off his hearing aid. Ouch--Good read though. Random Billy taunting. Just plain tired of Packer and Nantz. (second to last bullet point) Torturous. That about sums it.

Billy pACCer? Billy Packer swoons for Duke? The BasketBlog is not so sure. Three quarters the way down the page, the BigTenWonk gets an anti-Packer letter from a reader. I think Katy didn't like Packer's assessment. You be the judge. General fussing here. Here Packer gives a guy a tummy ache. The Sports Frog is no fan of Packer.

This guy thinks Packer is a Wake Forest homer who is semi-sentient. Is that fair? Perhaps, but this is a bit harsher than the BasketBlog's take.

This guy's surprised he agreed with Packer. Here too, but without the surprise. And here where Vitale gets most of the criticism. And I think a Georgia Tech fan really does understand Illinois' pain. This one noticed CBS didn't return to Packer's interview with Felton after the game. Him too. And the good Professor is not overly critical, but mildly so.

Does Packer have a ghost writer. This guy is asking the questions. If so, does he also write for Vitale who takes a lot of criticism in some of these links.

MINORITY VIEW
The Sportsaholic notes he's in the minority but says Packer is a good analyst because he offers opinions that people don't like. Perhaps I need to be an -aholic to understand that logic. Yet this guy agrees. Him too. After 15 straight, it might be time for a change, Sportsaholic.

OFF TOPIC, KINDA
