NFL Draft

ESPN always seems to do a good job of covering big events like this. Well, big for those of us with fantasy football teams. The 49ers are picking first. But isn't it already a foregone conclusion that whoever gets picked #1 is gonna suck? And isn't it true that some mid-round pick is going to come out of nowhere and perform at a very high level? It's not like the NBA draft where teams know the skills that they've seen in college (and even high school to a lesser degree) are directly transferable to the professional level.

These guys have been measured and tested and prodded and poked to an unbelievable degree. And still teams can't be sure their draft picks are truly going to work. But who is guaranteed to do well out of this whole thing? The agents, of course. And they're probably all lawyers.

Figures.
