Odds & Ends

NFL Draft
I don't know about you guys but once they started drafting guys I had never seen it was over for me. Basically my attention waned at around pick 10. Then I happened past a TV around the middle of the second round. (That's about 4 hours later, I think.) And then I popped over to see Maurice Clarett get taken by the Denver Broncos. Crazy stuff.

NBA Playoffs
They'll be over around mid-September. It's just so hard to get motivated by it all. Know what I mean? And besides the teams in the East not named Detroit and Miami have no shot. Out West it could be any of 5 or 6 teams, I suppose. But 4 rounds of 7 game series is too much. Gimme the upsets associated with 5 game series.

Upsets are what make the NCAA Tourney so compelling. The NBA suffers a lack of upsets.

Baseball
Yankees/Sox. Sox/Yankees. And the Braves are still in the hunt after 14 straight years. Kansas City's magic number for elimination from the playoffs is basically 3 games. Remember when they were good with George Brett and Dan Quisenberry? I do. Anyway, it's just too much for me to follow it closely. 32 teams and 81 home games each. That's a lot of baseball.

Go National, I guess. The Montreal Expos demand their revenge and satisfaction. Or something.

Golf
Is Tiger playing? Wake me when he is.

Disc Golf
A nice park and some sunshine. That's the ticket. Minimal investment and less frustrating than actual golf. And no fussy rules about wearing long pants like at some clubs.

Finally
Hope all you guys had a great weekend. Good luck Maurice Clarett. More tomorrow.
