Five reasons to watch ACC football
ACC football notebook: Tackling media criticism
Parker on the fast track: "Former Tar Heel impresses Tomlin." Amazing....the kid can run for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but couldn't run for John Bunting. This truly may be one of the all "misses" by a college coach. If you can think of a bigger miss, take it to the comments section.
Dascenzo: Is better good enough for Duke? : "If for no other reasons than that Duke isn't winless in football, it's still September and hope always springs eternal, will the next two weeks really define the Blue Devils in the Ted Roof era?" It should be good enough for the Coach to keep his job, but its not good enough for a school that has thte ability to be better but continues to hamstring its coach.
Rick Maese: Legacy's end? :"UM, Friedgen have great QB history, but not so much lately."
Czyz commits to play basketball at Duke: "Olek Czyz, a 6-foot-7 basketball power forward from Reno, Nev., committed to Duke on Wednesday night, according to recruiting analyst Bob Gibbons." Interesting....the kid is barely top 100. That's rare at Duke.
Hall ready to dazzle FSU : "D.J. Hall grew up a Seminoles fan, but wasn't recruited by them. He ended up at Alabama, where he is the school's career leader in receiving yards."
UM's offensive line avoiding penalties : "University of Miami assistant coach Jeff Stoutland feeds his offensive linemen lots of inspiring one-liners during practice. But for UM's big men, Stoutland said those principles have become a way to make fun of their coach."
Darnell Jenkins back with Hurricanes to take care of his business : "For the past two years, Darnell Jenkins has lived alone in an apartment on the University of Miami campus."

Travis Benjamin Will Makes `Canes Wait: "Just finished watching Glades Central High School defeat Dwyer 14-7 and caught..."
Pack's recruits solid: "NCSU coach Tom O'Brien and his staff already have 12 known recruiting commitments for next year. The Pack's 2008 class -- for now -- is ranked 22nd nationally by Scout.com."
NCSU vows it won't run out of water: "N.C. State athletics director Lee Fowler said Thursday that there should not be a shortage of bottled water for Saturday's football game against Louisville. "
Fantastic 4: "Few teams outside the nation’s elite can field four game-breakers on offense as Clemson can. CLEMSON CALL THEM BIG-PLAY guys. Call them game-breakers. Call them jaw-droppers. Whatever you want to call them, Clemson has them ... in abundance."
Hokies' offense struggling : "The Hokies (3-1) are 11th in the ACC in total offense and searching for more consistency heading into Saturday's game against visiting North Carolina."
UMass's Coen stirring with memories of BC:"This was the way Liam Coen always pictured it. He would be the starting quarterback for an undefeated college football team. It would be a Saturday afternoon in autumn before a full house of more than 40,000 fans. He would charge out onto the turf at Alumni Stadium at Boston College, the field of his most fervent dreams."
Beginning of the End: "Top that!" Chris Long could have challenged Jeffrey Fitzgerald after Virginia's win over North Carolina on Sept. 15. "Top this!" Fitzgerald could have responded after the Cavaliers' victory over Georgia Tech a week later."
Monroe's strong game dampened by injury
Best-kept secret: "Opponents sometimes forget about D.J. Parker, until he makes contact."
Terps in rush to get to QB : "Every week, Maryland defensive line coach Dave Sollazzo preaches the importance of putting pressure on the quarterback."
