KU v K-State
Pay attention coaches. If you can land a Beasley or a Carmelo Anthony caliber player, you can compete on the national stage.
Pay attention players. If you go to Georgia Tech (Chris Bosh) and have to play against Duke and Carolina four times in a season, you're not going to change the power dynamic of a conference, more than likely**. But if you go somewhere where not much is expected and the overall competition in a conference is decent but not great, you can become a legend.
Michael Beasley can eat in Manhattan, Kansas FOR FREE for the rest of his life. Even when he's rich (next year) he'll have restaurant owners refusing his perfectly spendable greenbacks. I guarantee it.
24 years of losing to your in-state rival is a long time. Wow. On your court. Double wow. Congratulations to the Kansas State Fightin' Beasleys.
**Apologies to Kenny Anderson who, in my defense, stayed two years but was NBA-ready by today's standards right out of high school.
