Getting your mind right:
CIAA OKs stay in Charlotte until 2011
: "CIAA commissioner Leon Kerry had said he wanted to keep his conference's annual tournament in Charlotte for a few more years. Now the move is official."

The conference headlines:

Dascenzo of the Durham Herald Sun: Lady Devils came out flat: "Maybe it was those black uniforms or the 81-degree heat on the floor at Carmichael Auditorum on Sunday. Nah. Perhaps it was North Carolina's balance -- four players hit double figures, and 6-1 senior Erlana Larkins got her ninth double-double of the season. Or, sure this is it, Duke couldn't buy a 3-pointer with a roll of Ben Franklins."

Mark Berman of the Roanoke News: Deron and mom: "Denise Washington says the last three years have been a special time for her with her son Deron at Virginia Tech."

Clemson
Basketball Thriller: Tigers toast the Terps: "Clemson players celebrate an improbable 73-70 victory against Maryland in College Park. They were down 59-39 with 11:21 remaining. Unveiling purple uniforms was supposed to give Clemson a sense of the special opportunity at hand."

Basketball buzz: "James Mays spent several weeks last summer training one-on-one with Maryland forward James Gist in preparation for possibly turning pro."

Maryland
Another Nightmare Ending: "After building a 20-point lead in the second half, James Gist, above, and the Terps fall prey to a frantic Clemson rally that sends Maryland to a 73-70 loss in its final home game of the season Sunday."

Terps blow it : "Maryland coach Gary Williams reacts during his team's second-half collapse against Clemson. The Terps blew a 20-point lead in the final 11 minutes, falling to the Tigers, 73-70, on Senior Night at the Comcast Center."

North Carolina
UNC Women pound Duke to finish perfect in ACC: ""Senior Night was a dream come true for the UNC women's basketball players who appeared in their final game Sunday at Carmichael Auditorium."

UNC Spring football
: "Coach Butch Davis begins his second spring with 43 returning lettermen, a new defensive coordinator (Everett Withers) and a great big question mark at quarterback."

Georgia Tech
Season's not lost: "If the Jackets win out the next three games, they can finish above .500 overall and in the ACC.

Morrow made his mark:"Bradley: If Tech isn't what it was when senior guard enrolled, that doesn't mean it wasn't fun."

Miami
American High DE Vernon commits to UM: "The University of Miami put together one of the nation's top football recruiting classes last month by building a virtual protective wall around the high school stars it coveted most in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties."

The McClinton Zone: " One thing I've noticed is oftentimes UM guard Jack McClinton hits a stretch in..."
